Is it Hobo? /
Photo tips
So you spot some Hobo. It's exciting, yes. But remain calm and consider these points before you take a picture.
- Is it the best time of day to photograph it?
- Does including people make your picture stronger? If so, what kind of folks? An owner, a patron, etc.
- Are you showing context?
- If you're driving, biking, running or walking, be extra safe. But get that picture anyway. Include windshield wipers, rearview mirrors or other obstructions because it shows how you encountered it.
- Look in the vicinity of your find. What makes your Hobo distinct? Is it funny? Is it in a surprising place? Is it surrounded by a ton of other type? Show us more than just the sign if there is more.
- If you find a Hobo that has already been photographed (Popular brand of Clementine's for example), take a picture anyway, but make it specific to you. Photograph it in your local store, or your house, or in your part of the country, or taken with your camera.
- If it is on television or at the movies, try to show a bit of the TV set, or a station logo or other context.
- Do it for the luv!
